Description

The vise that bolts to the machine. Made for this base, not adapted to it.

A vise that is fixed to the same lump of metal as the column is the single biggest thing you can do for hole position on a small press. Nothing shifts between the mark and the hole because nothing can.

  • Bolts to the drill press base - centre hole and six M3 threads, the same pattern across the whole range.
  • Machined jaws, screw feed. Parallel faces, a positive clamp.
  • Stacks on the XY stage if you add one later.

Which vise should you buy

This one if you are drilling metal and want a firm grip and a hard jaw.

The brass one if the work is soft or finished and you cannot afford a mark - watch plates, dials, small castings.

The clamp-on one if you want something for hand work beside the machine. It does not belong under the bit.
