Description

A punch that marks the centre without a hammer. Press down until it clicks, and it strikes itself.

This is the difference between a hole where you wanted it and a hole 0.4 mm to the left. A drill bit follows the dimple you give it; without one, a small bit skates across brass or a board and takes your workpiece with it.

  • Spring-loaded, one hand. No hammer, which matters when the other hand is holding the part.
  • Adjustable strike force - turn the cap. Light for thin brass and boards, heavier for steel sheet.
  • Hardened tip.

Use it lightly on circuit board

Fibreglass board cracks. Wind the cap right down before you punch a PCB, or skip the punch entirely on boards and let the carbide bit find its own hole at low speed - that works too.
