It sits on the base of a mini drill press, you clamp or tape the work to its top plate, and two micrometer heads move that plate front to back and side to side. Each division on the thimble is a hundredth of a millimetre.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eTwo sizes.\u003c\/strong\u003e Top plate 40 x 40 mm or 60 x 60 mm. The 40 fits the base of a small 12 V bench drill more comfortably; the 60 gives a PCB or a watch plate more room.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eTravel about 6.5 mm each way\u003c\/strong\u003e on both axes, per the maker. Measure the gap between the chuck and the base on your own machine, and check it against the height in the drawing for the size you choose.
