That is the point of getting a hundred of them - each one has a working life measured in minutes, not hours, and a band that has stopped cutting will burnish and heat the work instead of removing it. Change it when it starts sliding.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRun them slow. At high speed the band walks off the drum and the rubber overheats. If you are using these in the drill press, the low end of the speed range is where they belong.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNot for steel removal. These are for wood, plastic, resin, soft metal and cleaning up an edge.
