The cutting faces are steel coated with diamond grit, not cut teeth. That matters: cut teeth clog and go blunt on hard material, and they will not touch glass, ceramic or hardened steel at all. The round and the tapered points are the two you will reach for first if you are opening drilled holes. The knife is for cleaning out a corner that a round file rides straight past.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eWhere it stops\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese are needle files. The whole set weighs less than a single bastard file, and it is meant for work you hold in one hand. Do not try to take down a weld or square up a piece of bar stock with them - the grit strips off the steel when you lean on it hard, and once a patch is bald that face is finished.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDiamond files also do not like heat. Dry cutting on steel at speed glazes the surface. A drop of water or light oil and a slower stroke keeps them alive far longer.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe handles are plastic over the shank. They are comfortable and they are not indestructible. Grip them, do not clamp them in a vise and use them as a lever.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNo case is included.
